DIP with CCJ - Success

Hi All,
Wanted to share my experience here. Long time lurker who has perused these forums looking for advice on and off for 5 years!
Partner has had adverse credit for the past 10 years. We now have one CCJ (will be removed in June 2019) and one default (will be removed April 2019) outstanding against his name. Have been saving for 5 years now, hoping to meet the 15% LTV that I've read can be the magic ingredient with adverse credit when applying for a mortgage.
Reached out to a Broker to discuss getting a mortgage and was told that we had a good chance with 15% deposit and the fact my credit was extremely clean.
Can happily say we have our DIP from Halifax ready for the move.
Now I know this adverse credit is old and nearly ready to drop off, combined with a 'decent' deposit, so it may not shock some. However, wanted to share this with others potentially in the same boat that may be wondering how long theyre going to have to wait! Obviously, DIP does not mean firm offer.... we will see when it gets to house buying stage, and ill be sure to update as we progress!
Exciting times ahead

Good luck. I hope all goes well.
Time does heal. If one is patient enough and the lessons of the past are taken on board.0
