60th Birthday 'BIG' holiday in November

Not even sure that I am posting in the right forum but here go's.
I am 60 in November and will get a pension and lump sum, both small, from the Civil Service.
I want to go on a touring holiday to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand and this will cost me about £3,500. The lump sum will cover the cost with a couple of thousand left over.
My question is, what is the best way to pay for the holiday as soon as possible and then cover costs with the lump sum. If I don't book it and wait, I will end up not booking it and will then regret not going. I want to be away for my birthday so that I can say I was in Cambodia for my 60th.
Any advice welcomed.

  • 0% credit card?
  • I had thought of that but do any of us really know what limit we are going to get on a 0% cc? Whenever I have had a new cc I have started on £1500 limit. Funnily enough, when the 0% runs out, my credit limit shoots up.

Well could you pay the deposit then put the rest on a credit card and pay IN FULL when you receive the lump sum?
Have a wonderful time, what a great way to celebrate your birthday!
