Freezing button mushroom?

Google says this may be possible but was hoping for feedback from someone who's actually tried it - less about moneysaving and more about avoiding waste.
I don't like slimy mushrooms and would plan to use them up in chilli etc. Any thoughts?

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Mushrooms IMHO don't freeze well (commercial ones are quick frozen I think). I would either dry them (as above) though that can be awkward depending on your oven. Or I would cook them into something - soup or similar. I am a great fan of bottling, and I think they would bottle well in oil, with some garlic. The oil isn't wasted as you use it in the cooking. My sister does this, as she's a mushroom hunter, but I've never tried it.
However, if you're doing this because you've got some left-overs, it's worth an experiment in freezing.0
