Does every workplace have an...

“ar*ehole or 2??”

I’ve had 3 or 4 jobs in the last 12 months and it seems regardless of work place, there are always those that “grate”

I’m extremely easy going and will help anyone but it’s really frustrating how many look to cause issues or even though they aren’t the boss, try and be just that and pull rank??

Or is it me?? Maybe people just take offence to my laid back approach...

    Hahaha! I’d say “YES”

You are always going to get those “jobsworth” types. Bossy, ignorant and self centred. But that’s part of life. Smile/Nod, but inside allow yourself to swear!
  • Most of them do unfortunately.

Proper little $h!t stirers who have too much time on their hands and get off on making other people's lives a misery.

Or wanna be managers but when a management role appears they never apply for it.

Yes. They're usually dense and annoying ... but somehow have their feet firmly under the table ... at least for now.

However, just because you find them like that, doesn't mean they're in the wrong... sometimes (not always) ... they are actually pee'd off at you disregarding policy, or doing things wrong and making work for them. Not often... but sometimes... so check first if you are the problem ... if not, then plot their downfall in your head "just to pass the time".

I've worked in a couple of places where everyone was really nice. Both NHS with mostly clinical staff. Perhaps the key bit is that most people were out and about in the community for most of the day (i.e. you don't see an awful lot of each other!).

I've certainly working in places which didn't have them, at least I didn't come in contact with them if they were there. I have worked places where some people insisted on doing everything 'by the book' even when told by management that lthe book' was out of date and irrelevant to the current working practice. That was even put in writing to them but they wouldn't shift. They become a pain the wotsit rather than being that anatomical area.
