AVCs in th civil service
evergreen
I had some Equitable Life AVCs which I transfered to Standard Life about 4 years ago. I haven't paid into them for a few years and the value is about £11500. I retire in 5 years and will have some Civil service pension , will have been there about 20 years then. What can i do with the AVCs. Can I have any as lump sum, I couldn't when I took it out but I believe rules have changed now. Is it worth having some as lump sum. What about the rest. Its such a small amount in pension terms will it generate any pension? Also is it worth adding to it at this late stage? Would appreciate any views. Thanks.
