My gf has been lurking on these forums for a while and, inspired by all the fab advice you lot give, has given me a [STRIKE]gentle shove[/STRIKE] kick up the !!!! to post my SOA and get this sorted..
Income:
Salary £1350-1550 depending on overtime
Contribution from GF £300
Total: £1650-1850
Outgoings:
Mortgage £482
Council Tax £90 (single persons discount included)
Water £30
Gas £40
Electricity £50
Housekeeping £200 (food and cleaning products etc)
TV licence £12
Petrol £70
TV/BB/Home phone £35
Mobile £35
Car Insurance £22
Total: £1066
Credit:
Capital Bank (Car HP) £4,100 (£145 a month)
Natwest Loan (unsecured) £17,000 (£360 a month)
GE Money (secured) £4,300 (£110 a month)
Natwest Credit Card £2,200 (£33 a month, on repayment plan)
Career Development Finance £750 (£70 a month)
Natwest Overdraft £2,000 (salary goes in so account goes up then hits limit each month)
Loan from GF £800 (as and when)
Total: £31,150 (monthly payments = £718)
Max Income (1850) – Outgoings (1066) – Credit payments (£718) = £66!
Only I never actually have £66 or anything left as I’m getting stung by Natwest for approx £150 of bank charges (bounced DDs) each month – I cancelled most DDs via online banking on 9th October but still they applied and subsequently bounced. As a result I am in arrears with nearly everything and have no money to pay them! Most are going to try to collect by DD again later in the month but they’ll only bounce again.
Really need to sort this out now – each day the postman is bringing more and more demand letters. CC has been handed over to debt collection agency and car insurance will be cancelled if I can’t pay it soon! Due to a banking error (NatWest again!) I have to pay back £130 a month from my wages each month from Jan to July next year too. My gf stays over most nights (although doesn’t use my address for anything official) but the council (council tax dept) don’t know – they are going to have to be informed soon before we get found out and get a fine!
All suggestions welcome! I contacted CCCS but they said they couldn’t help me due to not having enough money left at the end of the month!

I'd change my bank account asap then treat od like another debt. At least you can start in credit each month. I don't whats really happening about bamk charges but you could try and claim them back and the PPI on loans if you have them. I claimed charges back and they equalled my overdraft, funny that. I'm sure someone will be along soon with loads of advice. Why didn't someone kick me up the backside earlier:mad:

I'm sure CCCS will be able to help - and you do have enough money at the end of the month - it's money AFTER priotrity debts they are interested in (Unless I have totally missed something) give them a call again and don't panic - also be aware that the techies may have to roll teh site back to Sunday night's postings so if this disappears post again - copy your original now and paste it back on later - there is still lots you can do and when everyone realises the site is back up you'll get some good advice going from your SOA

i would like to send my bank (lloyds tsb, aka, sheriff of nottingham) the letter reclaiming my last six years charges, but if i am in total debt with them ie, current account , overdraft etc,
will they take the ten pound fee and use it to pay into my account or is that ten pounds protected and will they have to accept it for what it was sent for, or, would a gyro check from the post office be nore secure.
