Fidelity SIPP - Return Query

Hi

I started chucking money into a SIPP a couple of years ago and have invested £10K in each of the last year. On top of this I get the usual tax relief at 40%. I have used Cavendish / Fidelity as a vehicle for this.

I have never really looked at performance given its a long term over the next 20 years before I retire (or snuff it). I have invested most in the Vanguard wrapper at 80%

Today I was just looking at investing for next tax year and looking at the main page and it said returns were 0% which I thought didn't look right. Why can't they just put the return on the front page....

Then I looked at all the transactions have been made and the 'buy'
transactions which were £25K (which included the tax relief). The total value is just over £26K. So roughly 4% return

Does this sound right?

I don't rely on the Fidelity figures as i don't think they are "activated" for Cavendish customers.

How have you contributed, monthly or a couple of lump sums?

4% gain isn't awful given how markets have been since about September last year. You would have been ahead a lot more at that stage.

The fidelity SIPP has never had figures for the return so I assume that the Cavendish one shows the same.

Fidelity are moving their SIPP to a new platform and I believe they will have this data when it is complete?

So they keep saying. I was advised that the SIPP would be moving on to the 'new' (?) platform about 7 weeks ago....still waiting.

I think it was 2008 when it was first announced they are changing the software.

Except its not a SIPP. They want to only offer Vanguard funds on it. And their software provider, FNZ, already have a SIPP coded on that platform but vanguard said they didnt want a SIPP.

My Fidelity SIPP has been moved to the new system and you can see the returns figure , since original investment. The annualised figure stays as zero until you have had the SIPP 12 months .
