  • These threads really do help give me hope. Probably similar to Jimbo above, I was hit by the financial crisis fallout, but I managed to keep swimming until I finally declared bankrupt in 2015. Wish I had done it earlier! I am really hoping to be able to get a mortgage in about 2 years time once I have saved a decent deposit.

    I wouldn’t worry too much 10 years on and nobody cares. The mortgage adviser was not interested the comment was “ these things happen, sign here please”

    I was expecting the underwriter to ask some questions, but nothing.

    The rate was 1.6% it was the standard rate 65% LTV
