Point Me In The Right Direction

Alright peeps

Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I have been working as temp agency for the past two months, nothing wrong with my work at all.. And today I have been sacked due to me parking on the road outside and not in their car park..

I need to know my rights if any...

Temp , less than 2 years employed

    Very little

And I suspect that there is a policy in place saying that you should only park on site .

Few to none in the way of rights in this situation. On the face of it it seems odd to park on the road if there is a car park provided but that's not the point. If there was space available and you ignored company rules you put yourself in a vulnerable position and suffered the consequences. They may have felt that if you ignore one rule that early in employment, how many other rules will you ignore.

Temp AGENCY - then they can pretty much do what they like as long as they avoid the obvious discrimination factors.

I am interpreting this that you are supplied by an agency and employed and paid by the agency who bill the company?

The agency cannot send you there if the company won't have you back, they can offer you other work but they don't have to.

Why did you park on the road? Is it a site where car parking has caused friction with other buildings, local residents or the council by any chance?

Sacked by the agency or the organisation where you were working?

If the agency, you have the right to sign up for another agency.

If the organisation, you have the right to work at other organisations for the agency.

In both scenarios, you have the right to find alternative employment.

No rights unless you can demonstrate you were unlawfully discriminated against in some way...likelihood of that being so seems to be zero.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
  • I wished we as a temp agency staff had a little bit more rights than we currently do... Sadly now the company that I worked for is now lying, saying that I argued with people when I didn't say a word...

Level of rights has little to do with being a temp / agency worker. There is very little protection for the majority of people until they have completed 2 years with an employer.

Tell me about it... The staff their was friendly.. Just now that I found out the senior managers of the building etc are the worse due them lying and saying that I argued with them instead of saying that I looked shocked and ran/walked out to my car instead..

The ironic things is I wished I had argue with them and given them attitude.. I literally went there and just got on with my work, didn't take the !!!!, or messed around. Just got on with things

What rights would stop being lied about, non agency workers could do with them too.

I honestly don't know why the manger of the building is now saying that I argued with me.. When we work on a open floor plan and there is about 16 people of using sitting around a group of desk, and he came over and was asking who owns this car, and I said it was mine, and then he said it was involved in an accident...

I just looked shocked and literally dashed outside.. So how did I argue with him?? I think they are trying to cover their backs when they have admitted to the agency it's got nothing to do with my work at all....
