Kent Reliance Senior Underwriter

Options
Hey

Our mortgage underwritor has approved our latest company accounts and has instructed a survey which is being carried out tomorrow. Apparently we still have to go through the senior underwriters. Does anyone have any experience with this is it common to not pass the senior underwriters stage??

Please help!!!

I am pretty impressed with Kent at the minute.
We had a case which did not even fit criteria accepted late last year. We put a note on the application to explain a few things and we were told everything was mine without even having to have a conversation with an underwriter.

Assuming the case makes sense, any quirks have been explained and everything stacks up - you should be fine.

Is it the norm for it to be checked over by senior underwriter once survey has been done?

Worried they are going to change their mind! Only found out today that underwritor was happy with our latest company accounts and instructed survey which has been booked in for tomorrow!

How soon do they tend to make a final decision once the survey has been done??

Someone has to be empowered with the responsibilty for advancing you a very large amount of money. Allowing the release of a mortgage offer. Decisions aren't made by a committee.

Providing everyone else has performed their roles correctly. Then unless for some reason that your application is borderline with regards to the lenders current criteria. Then there shouldn't be any issues.

    Im not sure.
I think our only underwriter was a senior underwriter as I put notes on the application.

  • So update or latter of!

Valuation was showing back on Monday... underwriter still hasn't responded and I feel so sick!:eek

It only took them less than 24 hours last Tues to view our company accounts and contact us to say valuation was going ahead! Now they are on day 3 and nothing. I'm slowly turning grey!!!!!:cool:

If it came in on Monday, forget that.

Tuesday is day one and we are half way through Wednesday. Most lenders do stuff on 2 day SLAs so you will most likely hear tomorrow unless someone needs to question something on the report, then you might have a five day SLA on the surveyor's response.

  • Thank you King street

MA said on monday it was showing valuation was back... today he said it's now been uploaded by surveyor? He said Monday it wasn't... So how was it back Monday if it wasn't uploaded??

    I find this so confusing!
So I guess I'm looking at maybe next Monday maybe for an answer
  • Still no mortgage answer.

Finally went to senior underwriter last Friday and been told we should hear today but MA isn't banking on it. This is such a long stressful process

Did you get your mortgage Annie?
  • Hi Annie

Did you get there in the end? Our buyers mortgage offer had been with the underwriter since before Christmas!
Just wondering if you was successful in the end and how long it took?
