Mortgage Dilema

Options
Hi My Dad has bought a house and myself and my partner have moved in with our family to look after him in his old age, the house has been bought outright, and we are in the process of selling ours, we will then give him the proceeds of our sale but this is short by 60-70k for our share so we would like to be able to raise this extra funds on the house as in re-mortgage / loan. Any one have any idea of how we can so this as mortgaging is apparently not the way, We were not aware this was the case, and we are already on the house deeds.
