Deduction from last pay

So I left my job and in my final pay I have been deducted £200 for car excess/damage. I didn’t cause any damage to the car when I returned it it was out of hours so no one did a check I’ve emailed and ask for details but no one has sent me anything.
If there was any damage would they not off had a duty to notify me?

What was the agreement about dropping the car off out of hours with no one around?0

They just asked me to drop is as another worker needed it no inspection taken out0

Does your contract give them the right to make such deductions?
You could potentially bring a claim, so keep pushing them for details; whether they have a contractual right to deduct it is important.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0
