We had this girl at work who was a bully and she resigned and may take the employers to a tribunal. Everyone has been upset about this wanting some evidence on her and she cleared her computer. There was a conversation at work today about proving our side.
I had this idea that I would look at the drive that we use at her friends documents and discovered something and I didnt read it but past it to the management. My other half thinks my behaviour is disgraceful but we these girls have turned our lives upside down. I did this with the good intentions at heart. Please can people tell me what they think.

I think that you were right - your other half may well have disagreed but if he had , for example , seen you in tears as a result of the bullying then I bet he would have been the first to want something done about it."This site is addictive!"

Personally, I would have done the same. I take a very dim view of workplace bullying and harrassment, my mother has just suffered from it and is taking her boss to an employment tribunal.

So she was the bully but is taking her former employers to court??? Has the world gone mad? I'm on your side, maybe what you did wasn't 100% ethical (hence your hubby's disapproval) but I doubt she acted as good as gold so you're only covering yourself. I'm sure the employers would have gone through things anyway and may have found this out of their own efforts.2p off is still 2p off!0

Sorry I am being a bit thick today. Exactly where did you find whatever it was? Is the drive you are talking about a company one or a personal one at a friend's house. Either way, the drive does not actually belong to the bully so there is no reason not to read it.
Bullies always believe themselves hard done by. The trouble is if everyone now gives evidence against her at a tribunal they may well support any contention by her that she was driven to leaving her job because she found it intolerable working there.0
