Proof of funds?

Hi there,

This is my first thread here and I apologize if I am breaking some rules but I have a question and I hope there are plenty of people here who'd be able to give me some basic guidelines.

What are the widely accepted proofs of funds when transferring money abroad? I mean, I am planning to buy a house abroad (both countries are in the European Union), and while the larger chunk of money will be easy to be traced (I am going to mortgage my home here), the down payment will consist of money that my parents had saved and gifted to me, and money I have been saving on a monthly basis from my salary. How do I prove both (given the fact that I was withdrawing cash from the account my salary is deposited into, and depositing the funds to a savings account in a different bank)? I know it wasn't the smartest thing to do but I didn't want to pay for the bank-to-bank transfer every month and I honestly don't trust the bank my salary is deposited to enough so as to leave my savings there.

Thanks in advance!
