Mason glass beaker jars with handles

Options
Would be interested to know of your experiences with hot liquids in Mason glass jars. Am looking for some hardy containers for heating home made soup up in. in a microwave which could be used out in the garden. However I see some are not recommended for use with hot liquids (possibly even coffee or tea) which partly defeats their purpose in my view.

Are the Kilner beaker jars more resilient. If if they come with lids, how leakproof are they? Can anybody recommend a particular brand?

We use Weck brand jars (which are shaped like a flowerpot, take about 400ml, and seal with a rubber ring and two metal clips). We regularly fill them with hot soup, fridge them, freeze them, take them to work, microwave them and dishwash them, and have done this for two years, in addition to home-canning apple sauce in them. The only problems have been when changing the temperature too fast (usually impatient defrosting). Any jars made for preserving should be able to stand hot temperatures, as they are intended for going in a waterbath. I'm not sure that some of the spin-off products such as those with handles have the same standards applied to them, though.
