Employer contacting my GP

I know its four weeks off work in total but such is life. I know my body better than my doctor and I know my joint needs to heal - as much rest as possible I was told! So in grand scheme of things, a month off is justified and I just felt it was a bit premature to start talking about getting me back to work. A bit of compassion for my healing time would have been nice!
A bit of compassion for the employer wouldn't go amiss either! They are the ones who are having the cost of covering for your absence plus, at the very least, paying you SSP.
They have apparently suggested providing a physio at their expense. OK that may not be medically appropriate in this instance, although that is for your doctor to say, but at the very least it shows willing.0 -
As a public sector employee, its everyone paying the OP's sick pay.
From another of their employment problem threads:I work in the public sector but have recently gone part time and now do 50percent hours - that is to say, on average, 20hrs a week (although it is shifts so one week might be as little as 8 hrs, anogther week 30hrs.
Now I have been told by my supervisor that because I am part time then I am only entitle to part of the Maternity Support Leave. I have applied for two weeks - one paid at the rate I get at work anyway; the second SPP .
Boss is saying I need to use holiday to make up the difference as I am only entitled to 20 hours.
Is this correct. Cannot find an answer anywhere. I would have thought I take a week off and any day I would otherwise have been working, just goes down as Paternity Leave, similar to how Sick Leave would cover me for up to a seven day period.
Thanks So Much
Taken altogether builds an interesting picture.
Somehow I doubt they are a member of a union but want all the benefits the union have fought for over the years.Originally Posted by shortcrust

What are you afraid of your doctor telling the employer? Objecting to this implies to me, and probably your employer, that there is something. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
