LGPS - basic Q. about leaving work before SPA

Quick question for anyone who knows local government pension scheme terms. (I have a help desk ticket out with the team, but they haven't responded yet...)
As I approach state pension age, I could afford to stop working. I have a couple of years to go. Do the terms of the LGPS allow me to continue to contribute to the scheme up until my SPA if I stop work early? If so, how are the contributions calculated? Common sense suggests that I can't, because I will no longer work for local government, but one never knows these days!

No, you have to be employed by an LGPS employer in order to contribute.0 -
If you are not already doing so, and have spare cash, it may be worthwhile making AVCs in the time you remain working - there could be a significant tax saving.0
