Can I leave my car parked in neutral because it hasn't got a park gear? E-brake enquiry also.

I recently purchased a Citroen C4 1.6 e-HDI Airdream VTR+ 5DR EGS 2012 automatic car a couple of days ago.

It hasn't got a Park gear, just a Reverse, Neutral, Automatic and Manual gear select. Do I leave it in neutral for when I park or leave it in reverse?

Also, it has an electronic brake button, do I need to select the button again before setting off, or can I simply drive off and it automatically disengages it?

Appreciate any advice given.

Read the manual to get the right answer.

Treat it as a manual (which is what it is - a manual with a pet robot doing the clutch and gears). Handbrake on, neutral.

What does the handbook say about how to use the electronic handbrake?

If it'll let you remove the key you can.

Any car I've ever driven that's had an electronic handbrake has also had auto-release when the car starts to move away when driven.

I don't like electronic handbrakes at all. I like to wrench up the lever and feel the grip. Like god intended.

After an accident a friend was pointed to the small print of the car manual that said because it has an electric handbrake it should always be parked in gear.

That will be car dependent. Can't do that in mine without lots of electronic beeping noises . But it does have "park"

    Which page was that on?
As perhaps on another page he document may also read, do not leave parked in gear.
