Hi
I have come back to comping after having a gap of quite a few years. Last time I comped for over a year and didn't win a single thing  I hope to be more lucky this time round
I have been comping for a month now and not won anything yet but I guess its early days. I am just wondering if I am entering the right things? I don't do facebook or twitter so lots of the comps posted I can't do. In your experience do you win a lot from facebook/twitter/gleam comps?
I know people say look for local comps but it seems so time consuming hunting these ones down.
What are your top tips for a newbie who has been unlucky in the past??

It's thin pickings all round these days. Just enter what you feel like, and don't really expect to win, but enjoy it when you do.2018 - £562 2019 - £130 2020 - £276 2021 - £106 2022 - £1400

Ideally you need to entering at least 50 competitions a day, some people enter 200+, although it is all down to luck, the more you enter the more chance you have of winning.
Enter effort competitions (Those that require effort and are judged)
Enter local competitions (Local competitions generally have less entries as you need to collect the prize.)
Enter using all platforms, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Gleam, Rafflecopter etc.
Keep track of what you enter so you don't enter more than once by accident, for the competitions that only require one entry.
You can use MSE Forum, Loquax, Competitiondatabase there are hundreds of competitions listed.
Most of my wins come from Facebook or Gleam, I win around 2-10 competitions a month.Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.0 -
I've rarely won from Facebook, never from Twitter or Instagram, pretty much all from Web entries. It's a numbers game and a lot of luck. I once went for 3 years without a single win, but on average, doing about 1500-2000 comps per month, I get about 50 wins per year. Just keep going, don't expect to win, and be thrilled when you actually do.0

I hardly ever win on TW (I had 14 wins in Jan and 1 was twitter, usually I never get a win from tw not sure why just not lucky on there) .. If my time was more limited social media are the comps I would leave out for sure.
look for local comps, check out Super Lucky blog there are great tips on there regarding finding comps and lots more, think about when the comps you are entering are ending - if not doing by end date most probably have not even finished yet. Thanks to everyone that posts :T:money:

Thank you all - you have given some great advice. Sounds like twitter and facebook works for some but not all. Ms Dees 2 - 10 wins a month shows it can be done!
Wow pate-ci0 you must be very determined to go 3 years without a win! I am glad you are having better luck now. I will keep going and see what happens. I will definitely give it a year like last time. Half the fun is thinking a win might just be round the corner.0 -
Thanks Laura I will have a look at Super Lucky blog.0
