Hello and thanks to everyone that’s said hi or subscribed - just popping on before work. Feeling slightly grotty at the moment with blocked ear/sinusitis not sure which - the ear started first but the cold weather hasn’t helped the sinuses and now I have a semi-permanent headache and face ache! Anyway enough moaning & feeling sorry for myself. See you all later - happy Sunday! Xx0

Thanks Esme - I’ll have a look. I’m on a Facebook page with lots of tips - it’s purely motivation that’s the issue this month xx0

Horrendously unproductive day today. DS was off school (in hindsight I should have sent him but it was borderline) and the terrible twosome basically trashed the house! Most of the day was spent requesting/demanding that tidying up happen now!!! In the end I set a timer and started to fill a bag for the bin - that was fairly effective! So a day of following monkeys around the house encouraging them to pick up after themselves... Tomorrow we have a hospital visit for DS. Hopefully we’ll get an op date (well put on a list to get an op date) for the summer. Grandparents are coming to look after DD as the surgeons often look a little dazed after meeting DS and DD together so we avoid where possible. They both like to chat!0

Morning all! Yesterday was a slightly better day! DS felt much better and went back to school, Grandparents came over to have DD while we took DS to the hospital. Short appointment, no xrays and we were finished 3 minutes before the appointment should have started so parking only cost £2. Win win! Grandparents bought takeout food for us (it’s become a bit of a thing when they come over as the kids eat it really well and they like “treating us”). On the downside, I felt pretty rotten again & DD woke at 4am crying with a sore throat so I think I’ll keep her off of nursery & toddler group today and send her back tomorrow (if she’s ok by then) I may regret it, but it worked for DS...0

So far there’s been no homemade anything since I started this diary! I’ve increased my swagbucks by playing a couple of games as surveys are taking more patience than I currently have, but not a lot else... we missed both toddler groups this week as we were all feeling a bit grotty and didn’t want to walk there in the cold so saved a few pounds there but then chauffeured DS to a school council meeting & ended up popping in the local Morrison’s and spending a few pounds in there on lunch as it clashed with lunchtime and I couldn’t tempt DD with anything in the cupboards... it’s been a spendy start to the year really - we asked for money for Christmas so DH and I can go away for a few days & grandparents will have the monkeys so we put DH’s bonus towards that too & it’s all paid for and sorted which is great - but then we had some workmen in to fix something and an hour long job turned into 8 hours as more dodgy parts of our house were discovered! That’s now paid for too but it has meant that we haven’t put an emergency/car etc fund away yet when we’d hoped to have made a start by now but it’s still early days so I have hopes for February...0

Well my hopes for February have been scuppered! I’ve spent the last week in bed with the flu & am only just starting to feel a bit normalish again... no voice at the mo, which the 2 monkeys are loving - although DD does keep whispering when she speaks to me which is better than the normal shout that she’s acquired since starting nursery... Have written this week off. Next week it’s half term 0

Day 2 of half term - the flu has pretty much gone - lots of tiredness leftover & a rattly chest that I’m struggling with, but hopefully the new inhaler will kick in soon! Day 1 was nsd. We stayed in for most of the day, the kids generally played well except for arguments about tidying up... and then we tied in a trip to the library with DD flu spray which the kids enjoyed (library not flu spray!)
Planning a day in today with jigsaws puzzles etc and then one set of grandparents on Wednesday and the kids will have a sleepover at the other set of grandparents Thursday to Saturday after a dentist trip on Thursday morning - hoping it’s going to be low cost - I ended up pre-paying for a month of prescriptions on Thursday as I needed 4 at once! Hoping for a T3sco breakfast on Monday as DS has been requesting one for ages & he has another hospital appointment on Monday afternoon to discuss another surgery - so shouldn’t be a spendy halfterm.0
