Masterkeeper

Hi, Ive received three letters in the past few weeks in my maiden name with a cheque attached for a credit card interest refund for a smallish amount. I have been married 10 years and never as far as I know had a credit card with this company. I have lived at my current address nearly 11 years and certainly never had a credit card since ive lived here. Do I ignore it?

other than that, some more information would be useful0 -
Its from Lloyds, thank you0

The letter will explain what the refund is for better than anyone on the internet can guess.
Has each letter/cheque value been the same? What credit cards have you previously held? Any that could have been transferred to Lloyds when they split from TSB.
Do you currently have any other accounts with Lloyds?
Personally as it is addressed to you (albeit in your maiden name) it is very unlikely to be a mistake. If your bank will allow you to cash it in your maiden name then get it paid in.
If there is a phone number on the letter then call it and find out more about it. They are better placed to advise than us£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -

On your old CC's did you take out a PPI type product? I got a refund on my CC last month and when I looked it was for interest accrued while using the product - the FCA has said that companies should not have charged this and to refund it. If you're with a reputable lender they may have refunded you that money even though it's been years. I'm with Vanquis but even their website said that former customers will receive a cheque.Changing my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!

I've got an unopened letter sitting by my front door, could you tell me what it's about?Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier.
