Non-Fulfilment of a Prize

Hello Fellow-Compers,

Last month I won an InStyle Mag competition for two tickets to see Chicago at the Phoenix Theatre. Great news, except.....I haven't received the tickets, the show's run has finished and various emails and phone calls to the PR companies have gone unanswered.

Has this kind of thing happened to anyone else? Just thought I'd ask before I escalate the matter! :-)

Thank you!

Matt

Sometimes happens, you could see if you can get an alternative out of them and/or report it to the ASA (although nobody can force them to provide a prize)

I would email the PR company and CC in prizes @ dmri. co. uk (removes spaces) that usually gets things moving. Express your disappointment and ask for their explanation before you refer it to the ASA.

If you google the PR company you can usually find a higher up bod to cc in too.

    From their T&Cs
If a prize is offered in conjunction with another company and the other company withdraws or fails to provide it, comps.instyle.co.uk will not provide the prize itself.
  • Thank you for the advice! I copied DMRI on all communications, but no response from them either. And the "PR Company" seems to be a one-man operation. To be honest, the whole thing's got the ring of Arthur Daley about it but without the charm.... I might call DMRI tomorrow and see what happens!

Even so, you would expect some form of explanation or confirmation and some form of response/acknowledgement at the very least.

While I would like/hope I certainly would not expect it - not specifically this company but not responding to winners is not unheard of whether a prize ends up arriving or not.
