How to say I’m not self-employed

Hi all,
I am a PhD funded student (I take home £1200 per month tax free) and recently I applied to the government to say I was now self-employed as I planned to do some transcription work to boost my income. I did a couple of transcripts, made £20 and have now decided it’s not for me. What do I need to do about declaring this £20 and telling the government I am no longer self-employed?
Also I have just started another paid job 18.5 hours per week in addition to being a student and due to this £20 I ticked on the form that I have had another job since April so I don’t know if I’m being taxed correctly for this.

You have £1000 a year you can earn without having to inform HMRC so there's no need to tell them about that £20. Easiest way to tell them you're no longer self employed is phone the self employed helpline.
In regards to the employment and the form, if you didn't have a PAYE job since April you ticked the wrong box - self employment doesn't count as a job. Don't worry, you're not the first and won't be the last to make that mistake and it is fairly easy to sort out if you don't get the proper tax code just requiring yet another phone call to the local tax office. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. While you don't need to advise HMRC if your self employed income is less than £1000 as you have registered as self employed you will need to get HMRC to cancel your self employment record.
If they don't cancel it you will be required to complete a self assessment tax return after April. On that return you will tick that you need to complete self employment and PAYE pages. You will tick the box on the self employment pages to say you do not have a gross self employment income of more than £1000.
You also tick the box to say you have ceased self employment.
You will complete the PAYE pages with the details from your P60.
Any other income you received such as savings interest, dividend income must also be included on the return.0
