Husband left me with debt

Hello, I split from my husband 2 1/2 years ago. Just over £10,000 of credit card debt was in my name and he hasn’t paid a penny of it so far.
I have increased this to £15,000 being silly and just continuing to live as I was with 2 paying the bills.
Being a full time student on a bursary, I am now really starting to struggle to pay it. I do have a bar job, but it’s only about £60 per week I earn, very little.
Not sure if I should just go for a sequestration, I suffer from anxiety and depression often. Live in Scotland.
Edit..I was made redundant last June and unemployed for 2 months before starting college.
Edit 2 here’s my outgoings, I am under contract with sky till after summer and also with Plusnet. The pool is my leisure club, might have to cancel it, but it’s the only social thing I do lately.
DDmonthly
1st..
Tv licence £12
Sky mobile £6
Pool £31
Hydro £80 - 15th
Credit cards min payments as of 30/1/19
Barclaycard £110

Halifax £9
MBNA £25
Tesco £80
Charged to Credit card
Sky £20
Plusnet £24.99

question: you became a student (on a bursary) in 2005 - what on earth have you been studying full time for 14 years! I ask to try and acertain your ability to earn more than £60/week.
You also had a similar issue 'with a friend' that split with their husband 2 & 1/2 years ago (back in 2011) - under remarkably similar circumstances. How did that one get resolved?0 -
Just over £10,000 of credit card debt was in my name and he hasn’t paid a penny of it so far.
I'm a bit confused.
You say this is your debt, but you are expecting him to pay it?
What is the background to expecting him to pay your debts?
Did you have an agreement?
Was it verbal or in writing?
Do you still have contact with him or know where he lives?
Are you planning to divorce?
Persumably you haven't agreed any king of settlement?
Sorry for all the questions, but we need a lot more detail to provide any help.
Any chance of working more hours?0 -

I haven’t been a student since 2005. I was made redundant last year and became a student again.
I can’t actually remember which friend that was in 2011 either. Not sure how it was resolved. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I never said it was my debt. The debt was in my name, but is a joint debt in Scottish law as we are married.
He did originally agree to pay it, £4000 he agreed, but has never honoured it. I have paid nearly £1,000 in solicitor fees trying to get this sorted out as he is legally obliged to pay half the debts as they were incurred during the course of the marriage and for both of us.
I want a divorce, but can’t afford to pay it. I’ve paid enough to solicitor already with zero results, just more debt!
I have tried to get more hours but it is difficult to find something that fits in with college. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

You did say back in 2005 you were now a student, had you completed the 2005 course and now back a second time ?
Have you posted on here as your thinking of going bankrupt ?
Speak to 1 of the debt charities before you choose to go BR.0 -

Yes I completed studies then and am now going back because I couldn’t find a full time job after being made redundant.
I was checking my old posts and it was my husband that’s left me with this debt again, his last wife sold the house to pay it off, but I haven’t a house to sell as I rent.
I did say in my post I was thinking of sequestration yes, it is Scottish bankruptcy. I really can’t see any way out of it just now. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Or as I suspect, just looking for a way to cheat your way out of paying your creditor what they are owed.
Actually I have been working full time and paying my way since I completed my studies. If I hadn’t been made redundant last year, through no fault of my own, I wouldn’t be in this position.
As I suspected you are just here to troll!
You must be a really horrible person being nasty to people that are looking for help. This board is supposed to be non judgemental so please go away and crawl back under your rock you cretin! This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
