Phone calls

Apologies if this has been asked before, if a company rings to say you have won a competition are they likely to leave a message? I tend not to answer the phone to unknown callers. Thanks for all your advice!

Most do not phone and of the few that do it depends - with a small number they will move on and ring someone else - some will try again, perhaps several times before moving on - the smallest group are probably those that leave a message (if no message is left there are no awkward calls to deal with from potential winners when the prize has now been awarded to someone else who answered the phone).

I have had 8 voicemails left for me over the years, but all were in addition to emails they had also sent me. Sometimes I got the email first, sometimes the phone call.

I hate those calls, I had one when I was in work once and I'd won a £50 Morissons voucher ... which is a good prize, but I think the woman expected me to be doing cartwheels in the middle of the office, she sounded a bit dissapointed with my lackluster response.
