Remember the milk

Does anybody use this online to do list?

I've just discovered it and am finding it more than helpful. You can set up several reminder lists, it'll even send you an email the day something is due in addition to allowing you to print off a weekly planner.

I have the following lists at the moment
1. Chores- this reminds me to do household chores, and I've set it to remind me to clean the oven and fridges every couple of months (probably should do it more often than that but I'm bone idol).
2. Work- quite obvious, a work to-do-list
3. Personal- another obvious one
4. Meals and shopping- I put my meal planning in and also what shopping I need to do
5. Christmas- putting down all the gifts I need to do and other bits and bobs. When I buy a gift I mark it off the planner.
6. Ideas- this has things that I want to do or am saving up to do, such as plans for next summers holidays, how much I need to save towards my breadmaker!

My OH has an account as well and we share certain lists, such as chores (although I feel like I do them all!!!) and meals and shopping. That way if he finishes something in the kitchen he can put it on the shopping list, or it helps avoid us both watering the plants on the same day and then not doing it for a month!

I suppose its like a Flylady binder for the digital age.

    What a brilliant idea!

It's the modern day version of my late Mother's collections of "little books" and endless list-writing of reminders, things done, to do, to get etc.She never missed a beat though, bless her :A Right up to the last six months or so she would write down what she had for meals everyday thus helping her plan meals when she had no inspiration and making her shopping list easier to write. Also her stock rotation with tins and stickers was simple but amazingly effective (begun before everything had a BBE date stamped on it but continued anyway and often quicker to read!)
Each month had a sticker assigned to it, for example a green spot for November, so all tins bought in November would have a green spot on top (red for December, blue for January etc). Come March instead of having to look for BBE dates, a green spot on top means you've had that tin of peaches 3 and a bit months and should be in front of tins bought subsequently. Much quicker for putting stuff back if you wash you cupboard shelves alot!!

  • I find that once I turn on the computer and get to this site everything else goes out of the window: ) Plus its a laptop so I'd have to remember to get it out and turn it on. I use my mobile phone calendar to remind me of things that need doing. But I'm going to procrastinate a little longer and check out the link anyway.
  • I love my Remember the Milk! My OH also does as he knows what he's having for tea every night thanks to his daily reminder!

I was at a meeting with some occupational therapists and was showing them it as we had a laptop in the room. They thought it was a really good idea.
