I entered this competition by phone. Received a call to say I was through the first stage and was entered into the big prize draw. By getting through first stage they would be sending me free lotto tickets and puzzles books, but I needed to pay postage off £1.95. Thought this a scam but considering ITV took a chance. Now they take £19.75off my bank every month. I had card blocked and new issued but somehow I see they managed to take it again this month. No idea how to block them. Be VERY careful. Some how we should be able to report this
This too happened to me. I called back the number and complained how they can add a direct debit to my card without informing me of the this and the subscription. Not once was this brought up. This must be illegal, most certainly morally wrong. I also complained how they can say they are sending lottery tickets and not mention anything about syndicates etc. I specifically quizzed them on this on the initial call, as I was already wary.
Anyway, I requested the number for the complaints department which I received, but they said they can't do anything and provide me an address I can write to (sigh). Anyway, they did get cancel the subscription for me and said they will refund the £19.96. Let's see what they do.

The number is 01424797531. They said it a free number.
I invite you to call and complain on behalf of the everyone they are doing this too, but more importantly get your subscription canceled by them.

They 'might' be a legit company, that are giving prizes away. But they are underhanded in their operations as they knowingly will have not sharing vital information (subscriptions, direct debit) and categorically lie to me about the lottery tickets they were sending.

    Good luck getting it sorted.
  • Absolutely disgusted with these. Had a phone call saying I was through to next round. (Tv wordsearch) asked for £1.95 postage to send my “prize” it was a wordsearch puzzle book. 🙄. I reported them to my bank for fraud because there was not a single mention of a subscription, they tried take an unauthorised payment again today despite me having a new debit card. Applied that they made no mention of a subscription. Tried calling the number given waited 45 minutes no answer 🙄
  • I have had the same problem, noticed today that they have taken out of my account, without any knowledge £19.95, plus 2 test withdraws of £1.00 and £1.95 a week ago that I didn't notice. Only happened to come across the payment taken today. They are scammers operating on TV, to obtain money by deception. And the possibility of winning some money that no one does. After contact my bank and the fraud department, I called the operator on 01273 094991 they are called Wynnington Wynners, and they operate very sneakily and cunningly and most likely target elderly people mostly. Good job I had my wits about me. When I spoke to a man on the phone, it sounded like he was in his kitchen! the asked me who did I speak to! how on earth would I know when they call you pout the blue. Another way of getting SCAMMED, be aware and do enter these simple, easy competitions, they are made to be easy so you enter! there is only one winner, the SCAMMERS themselves. Any genuine company would communicate with you by email and confirm and payments before taking anything out of your about, these are real CRIMINALS, and about time a stop was put to this type of SCAM.

Itv should not be showing this during breaks. Ages ago entered it did not cost by finding the soap, think I received another puzzle to solve in post, then a phone call trying to sell or ring a premium number. Just a scam

How do I get my money back.  I did not sign up for any subscription whatsoever but they took a £19.95 payment out of my bank.  My bank says I should contact them and ask for a refund but what if they refuse, where does that leave me?  I find it appalling that television companies allow scammers to make these adverts.

You must have given them your bank details in the first place so why should you get any money back? Would have made much more sense to read this thread before giving them your details instead of posting on it after. Hopefully only one payment is due.
