Self assessment and several jobs

Would appreciate your wisdom please.

My son is currently employed directly and pays tax PAYE but has this financial year had 2 other jobs where he was registered self employed. He had one job for approximately 4 months where he was working as a scaffolder. He was registered self employed but his tax was deducted at source. he had a UTR number for this. He also had another part time job, also self employed, but he only earned around £850 in total from this job. He did not pay tax directly on this
He had another job for a short time too, which was employed PAYE.
Does he need to fill in a self assessment form, and if so what does he need to include on it
Thanks

Yes, he needs to do a self assessment return. A separate page for each employment and a self employment page/section for both the self employed jobs. All his income from all sources for the tax year needs to be declared on the tax return.
