Getting out of hole

Hi all,
What kind of things do you do to help yourself pay off debt? I have an idea, I want to be able to write about my journey through my debt and how I got into it. It was through my now ex-wife who took cards and catalogues out in my name. I have other plans to help myself through this by asking debtors to place my account on hold to then pay them off in a specific month. Do you think this would actually work?
Thanks in advance

First thing is to put together a full SOA (Statement of affairs) and then to go through it with a fine toothed comb to establish anywhere that you can make savings on your current outgoings - this in turn frees up more money to enable you to pay extra off the debt. You can also look into things like transferring interest-charging cards to 0% balance transfer cards. the link to the SOA calculator is in my signature - if you were comfortable doing so you could also post it in here and we could help you with going through it?
As an aside - you mention that your ex-wife took out cards in your name - if you mean she forged your signature to do it then you may be able to take action on these due to fraud?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
