Nhs pension estimate

I recently requested a pension estimate from nhsbsa, coughing up my 75 quid as i want a clear picture of where I am to inform my early retirement plans. I know they say to allow 40 days for this, but I am wondering if anyone can tell me whether its likley to take all of the 40 days, or do they sometimes arrive much sooner??
TIA

I thought you could request one free estimate per year? The estimate I requested took around 7 weeks!CRV1963- Light bulb moment Sept 15- Planning the great escape- aka retirement!0

Depends - some are free, others (non-statutory) aren't.
Impossible to know whether yours will take the full 40 days or not, but there are plenty of free online calculators on the NHS site to tide you over. https://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/sites/default/files/2018-05/Estimates-SIA%20Estimate%20Request%20Form%20%28Officer%29-20180525-%28V20%29.pdf0 -
you get one a year, which is the TRS statement, usually updated in august/september, based on the last complete tax year, and assuming retirement at normal pension age for the scheme.
I have requested an early retirement estimate, based on an actual date. mainly to help check I have my sums correct. These cost extra.
suspense is killing me.....0 -
I was hoping that someone might come along and say " mine came in 3 weeks" or something. I think I fall between the cracks for a freebie (typical!)Depends - some are free, others (non-statutory) aren't.

But someone else's experience won't necessarily reflect your experience in terms of how long the statement takes. Think holidays, sickness absence, workload...!0 -
I paid for one a few years ago as I had Added Years and Additional Pension. So before pulling the trigger I wanted to make 100% sure.
My calculations were correct - and yes, they took at least 6 weeks to come through!0 -

Unfortunately TRS rarely accurate, had to have manual ones done (and errors corrected) on several occasions - only paid once as it was clear that the TRS was not right.
They took weeks to come but when I applied for the pension the details were returmed to me in 7 days0 -
Have you logged on and got ypur own total rewards statement?
It’s not useful at tell you your likely pension at age x, but it is a starting point.
I wish the annual valuation and “growth” in pension benefits statement was as easily available as the TRS!0
