I think it works like this - Your reckonable pay is the average of the best three consecutive years pensionable pay in the last ten.
Same as in the teachers scheme

Not correct.
Best year of final 3 years pay.
As others have helpfully stated earlier in thread, calculated as follows.
Year 3...date of retiral and previous 365 days,
Year 2...the previous 365 days,
Year 1....further previous 365 days.
No "averaging" going on at all , and no option to cherry pick any random 365 day spell within the last 3 years either, pension calculated on either Y1, Y2 or Y3
