So why have the prescription made up?

Because its either have the stomach burned clean out of me, or not be able to even put one foot in front of the other

Some of us live with chronic pain, Naproxen does help, even though the side effects are horrid. I also get prescribed the gel, which I prefer to use and only take the tablets on the most painful of days

Naproxen certainly is not an over the counter medication. I was prescribed it for sciatica. I must admit I didn’t get on with it very well.

Sorry I have no advice for you OP but wish you well.

Same here, naproxen didn't ease my sciatica, did nowt :(

I was given tablets that you should take one a day first thing to 'prepare' your stomach for naproxen to prevent adverse effects on it (can't remember the name)
As an aside, 'suki' is a nice name, my Bengal is called 'suki' :)

Naproxen and ibuprofen are both OTC drugs so why do you need a prescription? Can you not just pick these up at any chemist?

Ibuprofen comes in different strengths. The 100g and 200g ones are available over the counter. As far as I am aware, the 400g ones are prescription only.

    Mine are script only (500mg).
Been on them just over a week and so far no side effects, but then I do rattle when I walk due to all the other meds!
