Really struggling to get my figures correct for a jointly owned home which we lived in before becoming accidental landlords as it didn't sell when we moved to our current home so we eventually rented it out and then sold it.
We purchased the house in July 1992 and lived it in until October 2007. Rented it out from March 2010 until February 2017. Sold the house in August 2017.
Purchase price £105,000 and selling price for £367,500. I am struggling because our self-assessment CGT forms are not very clear in what goes where. Also as we are both claiming do I halve everything except the CGT allowance which I think is £11,000 or so each? Any assistance would be much appreciated as when I try and work out using months and percentages I keep getting different answers! I also think we are entitled to the original cost of purchasing i.e. solicitor's fees as well as the estate agent fees and conveyance fees for selling. Thank you in advance.

Correct. For a jointly owned property, you have half the gain each and the full CGT allowance each.I also think we are entitled to the original cost of purchasing i.e. solicitor's fees as well as the estate agent fees and conveyance fees for selling.
