in Cutting tax
Filling out my own return for the first time (but not my first hear of SA). My base year runs Jan - Dec. Obvs tax yr is Apr-Apr. I've not been working since end of June 18 to date, due to illness. Was entitled to ESA for 12 weeks during that period. My question is, do I complete my income from Jan to April 2018 only and the rest of the year (ie ESA) will go onto 19/20 return? Sorry if I sound thick..but want to get it right.
Thanks everyone 😀
Thanks everyone 😀

You should be declaring the full year end 31/12/17 on your 17/18 tax return.0

Thanks for replying Pennywise . So just to be clear, from Jan to Dec 2018, therefore earned income to end of June and then the ESA payments received for the rest of the year? Thanks again 0

Your base year, as you have said, is January to December 2017. You declare the profits in that period on your 2017/18 return. What happened in June 2018 is irrelevant to the 2017/18 return.0 -
Totally get it now. Thank you! 0
