I had a thought the other day about getting a different job. Thinking about how much I go online, maybe that would be a good area to think about.
I know some of the energy companies have representatives on these forums, what about giving advice in general?
When people ring up or email councils, what do they call the job role that deals with those types of enquirery?
Many people come on theses forums to offer advice, citizens advice etc. would be an ideal role.

Customer service or something like that. Many councils are using call centres now. The last council I worked for had a massive turnover of staff because it was low-paid and stressful work.
It is just customer service basically, although some organisations may require the person to have relevant training depending on the type of organisation.1 -

I am very much into getting in contact with my local council, I have been doing it for many years to sort out local issues, so I should have a higher level of knowledge than most.0 -
Whats your current job, are you in a union or can you join one.
If you become a Rep you will pick up lots of cases. Get some experience and go to Branch meetings. Meet up with other Reps and try and for a Branch official posts.
It could open a few doors. Many Reps go on and do well.
Some employers even promote Reps into Management roles so they quit union job (conflict of interests)0
