Rent paid in advance, use of home as office

Hello,
I rented a place where I will live for a year or so and I also use to work, I had to pay everything 6 months in advance (deposit, fees, rent), 2 months rent are in the accounting period I am doing and 4 months are outside (the next one).

If I have already paid, can I use the whole amount for my calculation on the share of my home for business use?
At the moment it suits me to claim that whole amount rather than keeping the amount for the other 4 months for the next accounting period.

Thanks

    Hello there

If you are a small self-employed business, you are permitted to use the cash basis of accounting. So if you have spent out money pertaining to business rent / use of home then you can claim it as an expense when paid
