Payment taken multiple times?

I bought some items in my local coop today and after using contactless the screen stopped and said it was waiting for staff.
Staff member assured me payment hadn’t gone through, tried again, same thing. Then she did it on different till, all ok.

A quick check of my bank balance shows all three went through, although they aren’t for exactly the same amounts due to using my points on the first two (the amount kept changing as it has used them each time if that makes sense).

Who do I contact about this? The store? A head office?

Is it just PENDING? Worry about it if it does not fall off. If it is going to the real transaction will process first and the other two hang around for a while.


But if they do not then yes contact both the bank and the store. Hopefully they will help.

I'd keep an eye on it. My partner got stung with this before and the issue turned out to be that they had run out of till roll. He got charged three times also.

Sometimes the payment gets reverted. Check tomorrow. Bring the receipt and a print out these transactions- making sure it says the name of the shop and not debit card payment.

About five years it happened at Sainsburys the payment failed and I tried again. It was on credit card and the shopping was done 2 days after my statement was produced. So it took 6 weeks for me to notice.
