Setting Up a SIPP

Hi All,
I am about to set up a SIPP with Cavendish and was wondering what the best strategy for paying platform charges would be. Should I keep a small amount (say 1%) in cash to cover charges, or let them sell part of the fund to get their fees?
Thank you in advance.
