So annoyed!
We accidentally allowed our account to over it's agreed overdraft limit by 85p !!
We have small amount of money in another account with the same bank so they took the 85p from there which is fine.
They wrote to us yesterday to say that when a payment is taken in this way it is logged on our credit file.
Does anyone know what this will look like on our credit file? I know that late payments are marked as (1) (2) etc, however I am not sure how it works for exceeded overdraft limits? Is it just a detrimental as a missed credit card payment.
We have been doing so well too!!

It would be the "over the agreed overdraft limit" bit that would worry me more than the credit history implications. Do you have a plan in place to pay down and get out of the overdraft for good? Remember that the bank can call in an OD at ANY time with absolutely NO notice so it's an incredibly dangerous sort of debt to be in.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Is that what the letter actually said? That would be quite unusual, as long as your account was in credit on the day the bank reports to the credit agency it will not show any late payment marker."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

We have a halifax account with a £250 OD facility (this is the account that went 85p over) and we have another halifax account that we save £50 into for car repairs and maintenance. My husband paid for his car repairs using the wrong Halifax card so the money came out of the 1st account, despite there not being quite enough in there. Halifax took the 85p from the car account if that makes sense!! Genuine mistake.0
