  • Morning, got up with Nelski and TA but Internet was patchy.

I've now made more than half a farmyard for my friend's children so those to finish and back to the trauma teds.

Not sure if I need to ge out and about today, probably not but am out tomorrow. OH and DS out this afternoon so I can clean noisily if I like.

nmlc I often think of hitting my one on the head with a spoon. NOT a teaspoon. I think his motto is never apologise, never explain.

Nelski, I'll be on tenterhooks all day for the next episide of the bananagate chronicles. Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • Morning everyone,

Yesterday was busy and full of exercise meaning that I've decided against the gym this morning, so a bit of a longer lie. I've brought my gym stuff with me and I'll see how i feel after work and if I can be bothered going. I've got another game of football tonight so I might not.

Trying another new recipe tonight title BBQ chicken breast. Might not sound the most adventurous but it looked lovely. I bet mine doesn't turn out like that!

My mum loves good food and likes to try new restaurants. I wanted to treat everyone to a nice meal down here in Manchester around Christmas time (to give me time to save up, assuming it would be expensive) Started looking for which has a Michelin Star, and there's none here. So my next best thing was to see who has rosettes and I found a few but it was like £100 pp, not including drinks!! A table for 4 was more than my mortgage and I don't think I can justify it, although I'm sure it would be a lovely experience. My search goes on but I'm not sure if any of my fellow Mancs know of some nice but not extortionate restaurants?

Nelski - For my future reference, are these adults or kids you're training? I'm picturing adults for some reason, perhaps you said before. Good luck today!
  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Last night when we went to bed there was a heavy frost, I was a bit concerned as OH has to go to the hospital this morning to get measured for his new insoles, was not looking forward to the journey on icy roads. However when I woke at 7.30 I had a quick snoop out the bedroom window....no ice.......so got back into bed for half an hour. WE did put the cover on the windscreen yesterday, so no scraping for me today.

I have done a trial order for a firm called parsley box, they do ready made meals, but they are bagged so you do not have to store them in the freezer, will see what they are like.

Aldi after the hospital, two weeks shopping just in case I am not able to drive next week.

Not sure whats for supper tonight, the beef stew yesterday was delicious, the PKP is great. I really need to use it more.

Right, time to get ready to go, may be back later............
  • Good morning everyone, freezing again out there but I’m not going far today, just a short walk to the local library to meet up with friends at book club.
Was so tired last night I left OH to the telly and fell into bed at 10 30 slept through till 6 00 to see OH bringing me a nice cuppa tea, he has health problems and doesn’t sleep well at all so is up most of the night.
This afternoon I’m just going to chill, except for making a cake with a couple of sad looking bananas that need using up.I don’t care, even tea will be something quick and convenient just for the two of us.

dumpling, your friends seem to be weighing very heavily on you and I think you have done just the right thing in cancelling a visit from one today, please don’t run yourself into the ground with other peoples problems, I know I’ve been there, it took me years to learn as I was all things to all people but never thought about myself at all and just ended up exhausted.

They are adults Speky ..although you wouldn't always know :D

Impressive pre planning by the way the trees have only just come down. Couple of thoughts on Manch restaurants...I can recommend San Carlo, Albert Schloss, The Hilton at Deansgate, Manchester house, Arruzo, and the Ivy should be open again by Christmas. very different from the norm would be Albert Schloss the food is fabulous and the place is very unusual. Why not join the Manchester wowcher site too you will get loads of offers then. Ill keep thinking :)
  • OL I prefer not to go out on my own in the evening, Birmingham can be a bit unsafe. I will if I need to but it is not something I look forward to.

Hurrah, Steve is feeling much better today. He had another horrible day yesterday and was hardly able to eat.

Laura arrived last night and has been doing acupressure on various points. She can't use needles yet but has been taping split peas to the points.

We've not got a lot planned for today, Laura will leave a bit later but I may go out for a walk with her and Ziggy.

    Morning all
Slept like a log last night ( sorry to the sleepless ) 4 hrs of shopping with Dad wore me out .
This morning I had to help Mr Fix It with an online order, he's usually spot on but today he was all over the place :( His meds are the culprits I presume, as he's normally the one having to help me. Anyway he's spent his Xmas money in Scre*fix and he's gone to collect an impact drill.
I have put a load in the Wm and there's another waiting. There is zero chance of drying outside, so on the radiators it will go as the heating is on again :(.
I will be doing some tidying and pottering today. The store cupboard stuff I bought yesterday still has to be found a home too, as it's still in it's bags in the spare bedroom where it was dumped unceremoniously yesterday :o.
Tonight DD will collect us on her way home as we are DGC ( and Jasper ) sitting, while she and SiL go to Cardiff to see The Jersey Boys. SiL gave DD tickets for Xmas and asked if we would be able to "sit". Our social calendar is filling up mainly with looking after the DGC and they have elected to come here on Monday too as their school has a training day......... first time ever I've been the popular one:rotfl: ( was probably known as the weird one at school :D )
Well the hunter gatherer has returned clutching a box, so it seems we managed to sort out his online problem . He's now muttering to himself in the dining room........ I'm not sure who's the daftest now, him or me :rotfl:
I've taken a HM curry out of the freezer so we will have that for tea, with either jacket potato or oven chips.
Hugs to all today, especially NMLC and anyone having a difficult time with partners, husbands, parents, children, in-laws, out-laws and neighbours.
Take care, stay safe and warm.
    nan xx

  • Good morning everyone, still cold here but the car windows didn't need as vigorous a scrape as yesterday. I've been out to get a refund and then visited Sainsbury's as I fancied some fresh beetroot.

Later this morning a friend who's developed Menieres has asked me to go and sit with her while her husband is away for a few hours. I think she may have a therapy session booked in town which I'll take her to if her husband isn't home by then.

Food today - scrambled eggs with tomato and watercress for breakfast. I'm feeling a bit peckish just now so will have a couple of oatcakes. I'm guessing my friend will have soup available for lunch, but best to have a wee bite just in case. It wouldn't be the first time I didn't get fed there.

Hugs for those finding life a bit trying, and I hope regardless that we can all have the best day possible. xxx

It seems colder here today! Must be just me:D Am taking Zeus to the vets in a bit, hopefully for his stitches out, then can get Bonnie back :j Still not heard from Senior vet re his bloods, n she's on nights, so I think it'll be the Greek one today, who doesn't understand me n vice versa:(
Might make a red lentil lasagne later if I cba:rotfl:
DUMPLING take time for yourself hun, my Mum always says that people are either radiators or drains, n I tend to agree;)
