[Metro Bank] Mortgage offer and Insurance Conditions

OK, firstly will be speaking to Metro Bank in the morning, but they are closed now, so thought I would see if this sounds familiar to anyone else.

Mortgage offer has come through, all good and groovy, there is a Conditions Precedent which states:

Surveyor states that the property is an area of past Mining activity. Solicitor to obtain evidence and confirm that
Buildings Insurance is in place on standard terms to cover for subsidence and mining.

As part of the process we have had a mining search carried out, all clear, I am in the process of trying to get the required insurance but no one has ever heard of a policy such as this, all the usual stuff about subsidence but nothing about mining.

I've even asked a friend who works for an insurance broker (albeit commercial) and they've not heard of anything of that ilk, although will be asking someone in her personal lines team if they have.

It's got me proper stumped!

I think they really just mean that there aren't any unusual exclusions in the insurance e.g. because the property has previously suffered from mining-related subsidence. I wouldn't worry about it.
