surveying (& other online ways to make money) - newbie q's

Hi all, looking for more info re making extra money from online surveys/research/clicking ... all the various options.
There seem to be a lot of different sites to choose from & I'm a bit apprehensive with how genuine it all is. I feel nervous giving out my name & bank details for obvious reasons.
Looking for some advice/pointers on how to know they are authentic. Also user experience & feedback would be helpful. Ie how much time are you putting in & for what kind of reward? I dont' want something that tracks my browsing (again for security reasons) so perhaps surveys are better than I think you get links that you get paid to click on or something.
Ideally, I would like to go with a site that would pay into my paypal account. as opposed to an amazon voucher etc.
What are the trusty sites??

I would recommend Prolific Academic for not surveys but taking part in academic studies. It is supposed to pay at least £5 per hour but that might be in lots of little bits as studies can pay anything form 10p to £10 depending on what you need to do and how long it takes. It is also way more interesting generally than all the consumer survey sites like Valued Opinions etc. Also pays cash to Paypal or to Circle if you don't want to pay fees. I have been on there nearly 2 years and made £1000 although a lot more of that was in the first year than in the second as there are a lot more participants competing for the studies now.

Its another organisation like paypal- you can use it to move money around- get payments, pay money to friends and they can pay it out to your bank. Several of us on Prolific use it because there are no charges if you cash out £20 or more whereas there is a small change with paypal.
Now is a good time to start with prolific as its dissertation season.

What do you mean apply? It performs the same functions as the likes of paypal. You register, if you dont use it, no big.

exactly, im checking that this is the correct company that people are talking about. there is a few finance companies out there with this name. i don't want to apply/ sign up/ register! however you want to put it without knowing that its the correct one.

Yes that is the correct company

Prolific are really good (as has already been said). You only get offered surveys that are relevant to you so no time wasted with screenouts.
YouGov.com are also good as they send you surveys they know are relevant to you so you don't waste time getting screened out. It takes a while before you can cash out though.
Ipsos ISay are ok but you can get screened out of quite a few surveys.

There are many other ways to earn bits and pieces that I've found quite useful too.

YouGov is extremely slow to gain enough points to cash out, £50 - maybe every 6 months or so.

But again reading the MSE Guide and trying the sites out for yourself is the best option here really.
I am with Swagbucks, Prolific, Qmee, Global Test Market, Populous, YouGove, Pinecone....the thing is giving yourself lots of options to earn cash
