Zanussi Solar Quote (6KW System)

Hi Everyone
I understand the FIT is coming to an end in April and I've got a quote from Zanussi Solar and wanted some feedback on whether it's a good quote.
Roof Orientation: South-East
20x Zanussi 330w Mono (Black on Black) panels
K2 In-Roof Mounting Kit
G59 Application for 6.6KW system
Connection: String Inverters.
Later if we decide we need optimisers on each panel, the cost is £45.00 per panel (parts + labour).
The total quoted cost = £8876.00 all-inclusive.
I wanted to know your opinions if this is a good deal or not?
All the solar companies are saying energy prices will be going up + up + up... quoting 6-8% increases year on year!! - Scaremongering?
How much could I realistically expect to be paid by the energy provider each month on a 6.6KW system?

Can anyone advise?0

At first glance it will be deemed a little expensive as it is above the general forum ideas that 1kW should be around £1k, although the in roof mounting does add a bit of cost, so its not too bad.
You are also not saying what inverter, this can have a large price difference from a Chinese brand to a high grade German brand.
Are Zanussi going to cover the costs of the G59 application. This can be quite high sometimes.4.6kWp PV Comprising 16 x Jinko Solar Maxim Optimised 290W panels SSE Facing, Solis Hybrid Inverter and 7.2 kWh Pylontech batteries. Gloucestershire.0 -
Thanks. Zanussi just came back to say the GSE in-roof mounting kit is working out more expensive than what the advisor quoted and it will be another £1000 in addition to the quote.
I've confirmed it's a 6.6KW system and a 6.6KW inverter but they've not told me the brand, I will check that. Is there any particular brands which are good that you can recommend? I would have expected they will use Zanussi own-brand inverters but I'm not sure.0 -
Hi fxlaw786,
I saw your post, and hope this reaches you in time. Please be quite careful with Zanussi Solar, they are not what they appear, and in regards to your query about the inverter, the situation is particularly murky.
I have put a review on Trustpilot today, look for review from morgance. If you can't find it, ping back and I will post a summary here, I can't put a direct link as am a new user.
All the best for your Solar provider decision.0 -
Hmmm Didn't realise Zanussi solar was just another trading name for Project Solar.4.6kWp PV Comprising 16 x Jinko Solar Maxim Optimised 290W panels SSE Facing, Solis Hybrid Inverter and 7.2 kWh Pylontech batteries. Gloucestershire.0

Argggghhhhhhhh NOT PROJECT SOLAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And surely you'd be better off and should have been recommended an inverter rated well below the 6.6kW?Install 28th Nov 15, 3.3kW, (11x300LG), SolarEdge, SW. W Yorks.

Hi everyone
Thanks for the responses. Zanussi Solar were nothing but a waste of time!!
They quoted me £8876 to which I didn't want to go ahead at first but knowing i had no choice with the end of FIT coming close, I agreed... they realised my desperation and called back to increase the price by another £1k... I've been trying to speak to them ever since and all I get is "We'll call you back".
Seriously - I would not recommend them to even my worst enemy... I will definitely be writing a review about them shorty on Trustpilot!
I've got a local guy who came out and did a survey for me, I'm expecting his quote next week... he's suggesting 20x 300w panels (6KWP) and then the SolarEdge 3.68kw inverter and optimisers on all the panels.
Although we won't be getting the desired 6.6kw, we won't need the DNO and we will have a more stable generation since it's over specked.
I will try for the G59 app but I think I've missed the train now0 -
I think some of the 4kW and greater Solar Edge inverters can be capped to 3.68kW. If this is the case you could go for a larger inverter and, if the DNO approval comes in time, you could have the installer remove the cap.

Thanks, Dave, I will ask the installers about this if it's possible.0

Does this mean I can still enjoy a 6KWP+ system but limit the load back to grid to 3.68KW?
I have a lot of equipment which draws 4.5KW Constant, 27/4 and then my household usage will be around 1.5~2KW so that's why I want about 6KW or more.0
