Can anyone recommend something for brittle and split nails?

  • The best product i've ever used is Sally Hanson Miracle Growth, its in a gold bottle you can get it in Asda,Boots etc,it really strengthens your nails. I apply it about 3 times a week you see a difference in about 2 weeks.Well recommended.

I swear by Nail Envy by OPI.

Unfortunately you've just missed a TSV on QVC, but it is usually around £14 a bottle.
    Gone ... or have I?

I used Nail Envy for a long time and have tried most of the others. But have given up! My nails would grow and then snap lower down than they would have done otherwise and it was painful. I have a good diet and keep my hands out of water. I think it may be something to do with years of biting my nails. Now I justkeep them very short.
Having said that, some people do have good results with the various proprietary products but my nails have defied them all!
Boots and Debenhams do Nail Envy
    Good luck.
  • The sally hanson stuff didn't work for me, in fact made the issue worse...I used vaseline and massaged it into my nails and cuticles a few times a day and this seemed to really do the trick, my nails are stronger now than they ever were. I also stopped using any nail varnish, at least for a while, to give my nails a chance to recover...

This is a good MS option too, £1 for a little tub of vaseline vs £6 for the Sally Hanson stuff
  • Nobody has mentioned diet and supplements, which would have been my first starting point. I know my nails are often a barometer of my diet at various points in my life.

I don't know what a good supplemnet might be, but I have seen a lot advertised - has anyone had any experience of these?
