Bullying in the workplace

Hi all I hope you can help me.
A new employee started to work for our company just over 6 months ago, I thought she was lovely until I was told that she was having an affair with my boss who has been married for over 30 years, and I’ve known his wife for over 10 years and she is a good friend of mine. In a nutshell, his wife rang me in floods of tears asking me what this woman was like and was she prettier than her and all I said was, “you’re beautiful inside and out” and I calmed her down. Now my boss and this woman are trying to discredit my job, he also made this new woman a supervisor after only 3 months, everything I do is wrong now and I’ve been working for this company for 12 years and I’ve now gone from being a A1 employee to a F1 employee.
I’m 57 and I just want to run away from it all, they’re messing with my head and this woman even flew at me in the office screaming in my face and used her body to push me out the office door into the corridor, I think she wanted me to retaliate but I’m not a fighter and I didn’t argue back at her either, I just let her do it, my boss was in the office and he didn’t lift a finger to stop her.
I’ve taken them to grievance, cos I thought that with a grievance hanging over them that they’d stop with this torment and bullying, but it’s gotten worse.
I’m at my wits end, I can’t take this for much longer, and because 2 of my work colleagues have stood by me, they to are now being bullied as well. 😢

Resign .
Short and to the point, but you really have little alternative. You can bring a case for constructive dismissal but that will be stressful.
Unfortunately being loyal to your friend has put you in an awkward position. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Thank you for your kind reply of “resign”This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Do you really see your boss coming to his senses? Because I don't.
So your choice is either to tolerate the situation, or to get yourself away from the situation. Hence the pp's suggestion of "resign". Maybe put a little sharply but, ultimately, you need to find another job so you can leave this one. It's not going to improve for you.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

What are your other options then?0 -
I would actually be tempted to talk things through with the boss's wife and tell her what was going on at work. If nothing else, it would show you how much you might rely on her (or not) if you decided to go down the constructive dismissal route.....Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

I doubt the boss' wife will be able to provide evidence of constructive dismissal. A couple of impartial witnesses from the workplace would be better.
I don't understand why the boss and his bit on the side would be trying to discredit you? You have probably done something that suggests you are siding with the wife, or are supporting the wife when the husband doesn't want his wife to have any support.
I think you will have to choose between your friend and this job.
A hidden camera at work might provide some evidence of intimidation by the woman or lack or action by the boss, but it is only worthwhile going down this route if the company has a reasonable size and has a HR department. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -

Have to disagree. Post 3 (for example) may not be what you want to hear, but there's nothing disrespectful in it.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
