Flexible working trial

Hi I’m on a 3month flexible working trial I need work reduced hours as I care for my partner and new born baby, we’ve been told by social workers, health visitors that my partner cannot be left alone with the baby due to risk of falls. We have so many hours care going into our home which enables me to go back to work part time. However when my 3 month work trial is up I’m not sure where I stand as I cannot work full time.
I don’t think the trial is working at work so what will happen when I tell them again I can’t do full time at the end of the 3 month trial. Will I get sacked have to go on the sick ??

I don't think 'sacked' is the right word but your contract with them which you might not be able to honour. Meaning, by mutual agreement you'd have to hand notice in on the contract. It's probably better to have this conversation in time for you to serve your notice while still on this trial. Otherwise you may have no choice but to go back to work full time while you serve out your notice.have to go on the sick ??
You can't take sick leave for this. If you did, then you could end up being sacked. Which would be much worse for references etc.
Instead - be reasonable. If you can't do the work you are paid to do, you can't expect your employer to pay you.0 -

You couldn't "go on the sick" if you were sacked. You aren't ill so would be expected to claim UC and look for work. The exception to that would be if your partner receives PIP and you were able to claim Carers Allowance.0 -
How can you go 'on the sick' if you're not actually sick?rockdude82 wrote: »Will I get sacked have to go on the sick ??0 -
Going about it all wrong.
The point of a trial to to see if the proposal works.
As soon as it is identified it is not working then adjustments should be main to try to get a working solution.
Why is it not working?
What needs to change to make it work?
You don't wait till then end of the trial.
If adjustments can't be made and you can't do the job then you resign.0
