Ruthbridge - acting on behalf?

I received a letter out of the blue the other day from a company called Ruthbridge acting on behalf of Cabot Financial who were in turn representing Barclaycard/Egg.

I sent them a CCA request and received back a letter saying they'd referred the CCA to Cabot but they (Ruthbridge) "are unable to provide any further information without undertaking some security checks so we can ensure we have the right person". They then ask for my date of birth and previous address.

I've not encountered this before and am unsure what to do. Help, please!

If they have referred the matter back to Cabot, just wait and see what transpires.

Ruthbridge won’t know sqwat about you, as you are not there client.

These debt purchases use various different front companies to collect on their behalf.

Don’t do anything for now.

Cabot almost certainly own the debt now, having bought it from Barclaycard.

I think I have heard cases where original Egg agreements have been lost so let us know what you get back.
