Electronic Identity

How can I check if I can be electronically identified?
I have beed offered this method to prove our identity in setting up a mortgage deed.
Be a lot easier than sending of certified copies of passports, etc, but would have to do this if the conveyancers fail to confirm electronically.

ask the Conveyancers to do the check and see if it works or not?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Im not sure if there are services which will allow it as a one off.
Why not just see if they verify you or not? There are a few different systems and they may have different ways of doing it.
We do electronic check on some of our customers but we signed up to a site only available to "professionals".I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Being stingy I was hoping to avoid the £30 charge they will make whether it works or not. Also the inconvenience and delay that I will need to send certified copies for ID purposes if it fails. So, hoping to save money and delays.0

Wow! £30!
Ours costs less than a fiver a pop and takes less than 5 minutes.
Did you use a Mortgage broker? We sometimes send over certified ID to solicitors.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I would expect it to work assuming you've got everything registered at your current address. As above though, £30 is taking the pee, especially if they charge nothing for checking via hard copies of your ID (which probably costs them more to do).0

Electronic ID checks cost about £2. So, if they are charging £30 then they are taking the P.
We have two electronic ID check providers. One is £1.75 and the other is £2.10.
if you used a mortgage broker, they will do this sort of thing at no cost to you.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
