Swept $7.90 to the mortgage today to bring it to $35,290.00. I know I will be able to OP $25.00 next week from my CC cashback. I still don't see how I could possibly get it to $30,000.00 by Dec 31, so I will concentrate on getting it to $33,500.00 which will be 50% of the house paid off. That should be doable. And anything beyond that will just be icing on the cake.
Friday's our company pays for our lunch as we add up all the week's activities and plan the next week's projects. We usually do Mexican, and I am in the mood for maybe a pollo asado. I never thought about this as London, of course, is such an international city. I'm sure there must be plenty of Spanish, Portuguese restaurants, but are there many Mexican and/or South American restaurants in the UK? I imagine out in the country, probably not a lot of variety, but I could be wrong. Just curious. We love our Mexican food here. Time to order some. Have a great weekend all! And if I made you hungry for Mexican food...not sorryMortgage start date Dec 2015 - $64,655.00

Spending again but we painted the front door and needed to replace the old light fixture outside. Plus DH had to buy some plumbing material for the outside line to fix it where it got bent. Now everything looked so nice with new plants, edging, mulch and the light fixture. Then DH started scraping at the columns of the porch and the plaster just came off. Solid wood underneath. So I asked should we uncover it and then stain the wood? DH got a mad grin and set off to get the right tool for the job. I swear he probably started scraping on purpose so he could get a new tool😁
But now everything is not picturesque as we have to scrape both columns now and see what lies beneath😒. He is definitely buying me lunch today. The weather is gorgeous here. I hope you all are enjoying nice weather as well.Mortgage start date Dec 2015 - $64,655.00

There was mexican/spanish type brand in the UK but it may have gone bust due to C19. Hope you manage to resolve your pillars.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

25.00 cashback from my CC redeemed to the mortgage today. Balance $35,265.00.
Tonight is a Zoom dinner with some friends. I baked a Paleo apple blackberry crisp that this forum inspired. I'd never heard of apples and blackberries together before. It's delicious.
Transcription is going well with 60.00 earned so far on my down time. I'm enjoying the work. And I have 23.00 so far in my Rakuten cashback app. DH wants a big TV for the guest room so I hope to get decent cashback on that in a couple of weeks and it will all go to the mortgage.
I guess we should order some food. The Zoom dinner is at 6:00. The only problem is DH does intermittent fasting so we're used to eating dinner by 2:30!!! By 6:00 I'll be dead, lol. But we want to participate in the dinner so we will nibble on something and have the dessert tonight. Have a great weekend all!Mortgage start date Dec 2015 - $64,655.00

My DH has a bit of a tool fetish as well LoM, he lights up when there is a job that needs a new one. Our garage looks like a workshop. You asked about Mexican / South American restaurants here in Blighty - my all time fave place is Viva Mexico in Edinburgh. First went there in the late 1980s as a student (didn't go very often because that was expensive in those days for a student!), it's still open now and we went again for my 50th birthday treat. Several hundred mile trip for a fantastic mealHave come across the occasional Colombian restaurant too. My second favourite coffee been is the one from Huila region of Colombia, where I visited several times for work. I reckon these things taste/smell so good because they have excellent memories attachedElmoR x2

Sounds great ElmoR. I'm glad you enjoyed your 50th with a terrific meal. 😃 And yes, I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one with a tool-loving DH. If we had a garage, I can only imagine the state it would be in. But we forgive them because they're creative, handy, and kind of cute😁Mortgage start date Dec 2015 - $64,655.00

Payday today. All my money is already gone, but all my bills are paid too, so that's something. OP of $265.00 to bring the balance to $35,000.00 and $10 from my savings tomorrow to make it $34,990.00. Now I can celebrate being in the 34ks. Trees are paid off. All other miscellaneous clothing and things for the house paid off of my CCs. DH wants a big TV for his room. I'll see if I can convince him to wait until November to see if there are any deals, although it's already a good deal, so I don't know if he'll go for it. I'd rather pay the savings account back from the trees, but he did break his other TV by accident, and he never asks for anything, so I might just have to give on this.
E-fund received $16.00. I owe the general savings account $1400.00. I hope to pay that back $466.00 a check starting with the next payday. House fund still sitting at $400.00. I won't start contributing to that again until I can get the general savings paid back and then I will resume contributing to both. Retirement accounts will receive this month's deposit. Did the two-week food shopping and came in at $170.00. I feel we have sufficient for the next 2 weeks, but with the pandemic going up and down like crazy, we are being advised to buy a little more just in case there are disruptions in the supply chains. We have plenty of household items, which is good. So I can focus on just some more meats and cereals and my specialty flours like almond and coconut for my baked goods.
I slept so poorly last night so I think a short walk is in order and then maybe I can catch a nap to make up for the lost hours. Chronic illness is trying to act up, but my body has been fighting it pretty well, and I hope it continues. I have some wellness visits to go to but can't until my body is back to baseline. Have a wonderful day everyone.Mortgage start date Dec 2015 - $64,655.00

DH wanted his TV so we ordered it and he picked it up today. He wired the wall so you won't see the cords and...the screen didn't work. So we had to pack the behemoth back into the box and he's off to exchange. Poor thing. And my poor wallet. He wanted a home theater surround sound too, so another 170.00 on top of the 450.00 for the TV😣
I know life has to be lived. And we don't celebrate holidays anyway so it's not a big deal to treat ourselves every now and then. I just want to pay all this off and get back to good-sized OPs to the mortgage. I can be happier with a huge TV in a paid off house than a paid off TV in a mortgaged house. 😒Mortgage start date Dec 2015 - $64,655.00
