Thanks, SavingHolmes. He finally got caught up and deposited the money himself into our account. Feeling back on track...for now  ;)
Thanks, PocketPoor. I love the idea of being "relatively" young :p and mortgage free. I feel like it will allow me a whole bunch of freedom for years to come.
Thank you, MoneyforDreams. I am hoping for better days ahead for all of us.
Aww, you're very sweet to drop my diary, BravingSaving. So sorry about the cress seeds. I swear I have no idea what I'm doing half the time and take it personally when I plant something and it just dies on me, lol  :# But most of my stuff is showing signs of life now as I stumble and bumble my way through the garden. Having a blast though.

And now a storm came through last night and our roof is leaking. It's okay as we were planning on replacing it anyway. I was just hoping it could wait until fall and after COVID is over, but it will have to be now. I will use the line of credit to pay upfront, and then I have the cash to pay most of it out of my house fund. The rest will be from wages. It's always sad to see a savings account be depleted, but I have to tell myself that's what it's there for. New challenge besides mortgage OPs will be to get the house fund back to a minimum of 2K.

Thank you, Mrs.Lovely. I see we have similar end target dates. I hope to be done by 2023 at the latest, but we will see. It's exciting to be so close.

Sorry to hear about your roof but it sounds like you have the skills between you to sort it.

Just caught up Leighof mar. Well done in all your planning coming good. :)
I love it when I drop down into the next thousand. It always feels like a real achievemnent.
I feel your frustration about late money and cashflow holdups. It is frustrating enough that you have a mortgage that needs paying no matter what. Once I realised that I would never be free financially or from working until I paid it off it would always be a weight around my neck. I am not too far away from mine finishing now but if I hadn't been planning I would have had to work at least another five years.
Good luck for the next month. I hope your interested buyer follows through. Keep well, that virus is NASTY.

Thanks, SH. Waiting on our real estate partner/pal to come give us an estimate for the roof, but we are thinking it will be between 3-5K. While we wait, I had $25.00 cashback on my rewards card that I redeemed to the mortgage and took another $25.00 out of my savings to OP towards the mortgage. Balance is $37,950.00. Making my projections, it doesn't look like I will be able to pay off $1000.00 in OPs for the month of July, even without the roof needing replacement as we also have car insurance due this month. But I will just do the best I can to get the numbers as low as possible. It would be nice at worst-case scenario to get down to $37,400.00 by the end of the month.

You said it @bit_by_bit. The mortgage will definitely be a weight lifted off my shoulder when it's gone as it's the first of our houses that we've lived in that we've really made it a goal to pay off in our lifetime. We never thought about it before with any of our former houses. And DH grew up in poverty, so I think it will be a nice feeling for him to actually own something and feel accomplished. I wish I could have done it sooner as he will be 60 in 2 years, but either way, it will be a nice semi-retirement gift to him.

Hi just wanted to stop by and say congratulations after reading through your diary! If I’ve read right you’ve paid off 27k in the last 18 months-this is amazing! My mortgage is still just over 100k and getting down to 37k would probably make me feel like I just had a large loan than mortgage-Well done 🙂
